The Musée d'Histoire Locale in Fréjus is situated un what used to be the residence of abbot Girardin. Opened to the public in 1998, the museum boasts a number of reconstituted interiors: the boutique of a milliner, a kitchen, or a bedroom in the Provence style? The museum's displays also include a collection of photographs and testimonies that tell the tragic story of the collapse of the Malpasset dam. In the gardens, visitors can also discover an old-style forge and a period washing house?
