La Colmiane-Valdeblore

The vast majority of La Colmiane Valdeblore commune sits within the territory of Mercantour National Park lying between 1000m and 1600m in altitude, encompassing several little villages rich with history: La Bolline, La Roche, St Dalmas and Mollières, and the areas known as Les Vignes and Le Seuil. Towards the end of the season this expansive family-friendly area serves up the great mountain outdoors and a full menu of outdoor activities.

AN ACTIVE MOUNTAIN

Any mountain sport and panoramic views

The Colmiane resort combines all types of sporting interests and fun activities in one place : 7 mountain bike circuits for various levels, the Baus de la Frema Via Ferrata (located above the station, and one of the most famous in the department), an equestrian centre, equipped climbing sites, and white water sports in the Vésubie River.

« RANDONAILLE » WITH LES ANES DE BLORE

Two day pedestrian culinary trek with riding donkeys

Until the beginning of October, it is still possible to enjoy two day treks between St Dalmas Valdeblore and Rimplas with riding donkeys organised by “Anes de Blore”. Trekkers that undertake the walking loop circuit (which is quite challenging) are rewarded with a tasty meal at the Le Pous’Café restaurant in Rimplas. The night is spent in a bivouac, followed by a good breakfast in the morning, and a picnic lunch for the day.

THE THOUSAND AND ONE WONDERS FARM

Horse-drawn carriage rides and culinary tasting sessions

Tours of this farm are complemented with meals and tea breaks and opportunities to taste farm products. Marc Ducrez also offers horse and pony rides, as well as romantic carriage rides to the rhythmic sound of the horses’ hoofs and bells - an interesting way to explore the streets of Valdeblore village and valley. Longer excursions over several days with bivouac and rural meals followed by nights in guest houses are also available.

GUIDED TOURS OF THE Ste CROIX CHURCH AND TERROIR MUSEUM

Roman treasures and local history of the area
La Colmiane Valdeblore Tourism Office organises guided tours of St Dalmas church dedicated to Ste Croix, which has been classified as an historic monument. A reference in Roman art, the church is home to many pictorial treasures and an exceptional crypt. As for the terroir museum, it focuses on the pastoral life of previous generations. It has hundred year old farming machinery, rural tools, and a miniature version of a 19th century railway.
