Discover a fun and unusual way of exploring the towns and villages of the Dracénie (with Draguignan village as its capital) via la Route des Chevaliers!

Follow Knight Hélion on his knightly adventures across various routes to undercover the hidden treasures of the various villages.

There are four routes altogether, containing four villages each, with four riddles to solve about Sir Hélion de Villeneuve’s fief, the village of les Arc-sur-Argens. To succeed your mission, all you need to be is observant and inquisitive! Clues are hidden carefully, so take your time. Fill in your parchment and you might have a chance at being knighted yourself. The routes are a treasure hunt in the great outdoors!

The Routes des Chevaliers are easy to follow, but you do need a means of transport. One of the main advantages of the routes is that you can do them whenever you want as they are completely independent. For instance, you can choose to do one stage at a time or do them all in one day.

Downloadable information leaflets on the four routes are available from the Dracénie Tourism Office website or you can get them from any of the Tourism Offices of the villages featured in the routes.

"Life for peasants and the Lord" Route

We plan to visit the Knights’ Route focussing on life for peasants and the Lord, called "Entre vie paysanne et vie seigneuriale", to explore the villages of Bargemon, Callas, Les Arcs, Claviers and Figanières.

Hélion de Villeneuve, the local knight, invites us, dear fellow knights, to complete his castle archives by going on a journey through history.

At the same time, we will learn about life in the Middle Ages, about jobs that people had at the time, how life was organised, about the Knights’ leisure activities, and much more.

The Routes des Chevaliers are an excellent way to discover or rediscover the region in a way that engages children taking them on a veritable adventure.
