Discover Porquerolles, unspoilt sea and natural landscapes

Porquerolles Island is a jewel in the Mediterranean and France’s second largest Mediterranean island after Corsica.
To make the most of this superb natural and unspoilt island, it is best to set out very early in the morning from the mainland; the first boat leaves Giens peninsula at 7.30am.
We make this suggestion so you can explore the island before most of the tourists arrive.

After a pleasant crossing, the boat will dock at Porquerolles village where you will be met by lots of bicycle hire touts.
It is up to you who you pick, as the prices are more or less the same across the board. You can hire bicycles for a half a day, or a full day – it’s up to you!

The road is yours...

Once you’ve chosen a bicycle, the road is yours...
You are free to explore the island in any direction you wish, and enjoy its safe and mostly flat roads.
The bicycles are kitted with anti-theft devices so you can stop wherever you want and leave them with peace of mind.

Itinerary ideas

For a 30 minute ride, head east from the village to cap des Mèdes.
The view from the cape is wonderful and the water is so clear you won’t be able to resist taking a dip...
For the west of the island, you can get there by cycling around the south of the island. It’s a longer route, but it means you get to explore the island’s inlets, known as calanques. The route includes ascents and descents. To the west you will find Langoustier Fort and the famous, plage d’Argent. Once back at your starting point, give yourself some time to explore this typical and very charming village.

La promenade est très agréable et le paysage est magnifique. Par contre, il y a beaucoup de monde. A recommander tout de même.
