La Fondation Auguste Escoffier

La Fondation Escoffier is a small museum, located in Villeneuve-Loubet that honours and raises awareness of gastronomic Master, Auguste Escoffier, his life and innovations. The home where Escoffier was born has just been tastefully and carefully renovated to preserve its historic past as well as point to the future.

La Fondation Auguste Escoffier includes a Museum of the Culinary Arts which aims to arouse interest in the metier and impart understanding of gastronomy. For example, the museum boasts a collection of over 1500 recipes and a guestbook that brims with personal dedications left by celebrities from the 1960s.

Another part of the house is dedicated to research, where meetings and seminars are regularly held on various gastronomically related subjects.

Self-guided tours last about an hour. Guided tours are available to groups of at least 8 adults, and must be booked in advance.

• From 1 September to 30 June: open every day, from 14.00-18.00
• From 1 July to 31 August: open every day, from 14.00-19.00

Closed: Public holidays and 24 and 31 December and the whole of November

Prices:
• Full price: €5
• Concessionary price: €2.50 (students, unemployed and disabled persons)
• Free for children under 11 years old.
