Genuine incense sticks - heart of cade

These incense sticks are made in Haute Provence exclusively from harvested vegetable products (wild shredded herbs, wood, resins and essential oils from wood or resins) unlike imported incense which is made from odourless powder glued to a bamboo core steeped in artificial perfumes and colourings. They are an authentic return to the Provençal tradition of herbs that were burned to ward off epidemics and purify homes. Cade incense is made principally from cade wood, traditionally burned in Provence in order to purify the air and keep out insects, and spicebush (benzoin) resin, traditionnally used in the Middle East for its antiseptic properties.
