Behavior in court

When we are in court either to testify or to defend our interests, we must behave as perfect as possible.

The first thing is to arrive a little early to be able to talk with the attorney before the hearing and find our seat calmly and quietly.

Another important thing is to be well dressed, clean with our hair done, without a hat or cap. We must also be careful to stand up straight, and look at the people we are talking to straight in the eye.

When addressing the judge, we speak with consideration and in a very quiet and polite manner. We do not interrupt him or her and we doe not use dirty language.
It is also best to avoid contradicting or arguing with him or her.
We should be polite to everyone working in court anyway.

We should also avoid eating, drinking or chew gum.
Our phone must be turned off : we avoid to play with it during the hearing.

These tips will not necessarily make us win the trial but they serve to avoid alienating the judge and members of the court.
