1942 : Beginning of medical experiments at Auschwitz


On July 7, 1942, a group of people led by Heinrich Himmler, chief of German police and the architect of the Final Solution, began experiments on prisoners at Auschwitz.

2005 : Terrorist attack on London transport


On July 7, 2005 at 8:50am, three bombs exploded in London's underground. Less than an hour later, another bomb exploded in a bus. Because of the rush hour, 56 people were killed and 700 injured. Suicide bombers were English and affiliated with Al-Qaida.

2007 : Truck bomb attack in Amirli in Iraq


On July 7, 2007, a truck bomb exploded in a market in the town of Amirli in northern Iraq. 105 people were killed. That same day, 51 others are killed in similar attacks in Iraq.

2008 : Suicide attack outside the Indian embassy in Kabul


On July 7, 2008, a car driven by a suicide bomber exploded outside the embassy of India in Kabul. 58 people were killed and 141 injured. The U.S. has accused the Pakistani secret services of organizing the attack.
