1920 : Creation of the Haribo Company


The company founder of Haribois Hans Riegel.
To mame it, he used the first two letters of his firstname, his name and his hometown called "Bonn".
In 1922 the company grew through the creation of the "dancing bear" and shortly before the war, it already had about 400 employees.

1937 : Fall of Nanking beginning of the Nanking Massacre


The Chinese city of Nanking fell to Japanese troops. For six weeks, Japanese troops will engage in brutality and atrocities, killing civilians and military and systematically raping women. The Nanking Massacre also known as the Rape of Nanking killed 300,000 people. This event is still a sensitive issue between the two countries in particular because of revisionists and nationalists in Japan.

U.S. forces captured Saddam Hussein near Tikrit in Iraq.

2007 : Treaty of Lisbon


The 27 countries of the European Union sign the Treaty of Lisbon, which replaces the draft Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe. It amends the Treaty on European Union (Maastricht Treaty) and the Treaty establishing the European Community (Treaty of Rome).

2009 : Silvio Burlusconi hit in the face


Italian Prime Minister Silvio Burlusconi is thrown to the ground and punched in the face after a political rally in Milan.
