1983 : Bushfires in Australia


24 bushfires killed 75 people in South Australia. Fires were caused by a very hot and very dry climate and affected populated areas.

2005 : Kyoto accord comes into force


On February 16, 2005, the Kyoto accord, signed seven years ago and ratified by 141 countries, comes into force.
