Maintenance of new sod
Once the sod is installed, you must follow a specific watering schedule.
After installation, you must soak the soil to a depth of approximately 20cm.
Then a sprinkling of about 3 cm of water should be done every day during the first 3 weeks (except rainy days). To measure the water, you can use pails on the floor. You stop watering when the desired height is reached.
You can mow after a week. The grass should have a height of 7 to 8 cm and the grass should grow a few centimeters between two mowings.
After 3 weeks, water every 5-7 days about 3 cm of water.
At the first spring or fall after the installation, fertilize the lawn.
After two months, you can aerate the lawn, preferably with an aerator.
