1914 : A German submarine sinks three British ships in 1 hour


On September 22, 1914, the German submarine U-9 sank three British cruisers in one hour. 1,400 mariners were killed. 1993 : A train derailed in a swamp in Alabama


On September 22, 1993, very early in the morning, a towboat which sailed on the Mobile River in Alabama, with no navigation system and which was driven by an employee who did not know how to use the radar, drove into a bridge rail, low because its purpose was only to make the trains pass through the swamps. The rails were twisted and when a train arrived a few minutes later, it derailed and three locomotives and the first four cars ended up in water. 47 people were killed.
