Tip of the Day : 26 July

Air conditioning and electric bill

To avoid your electric bill to be too high because of air conditioning, you can already invest in a climate with low energy consumption. Only this can save up to 50% on the invoice.
An important point is to have a thermostat on the air conditioning. A real thermostat - not all of them have actual efficiency - adjusts the amount of cooling produced according to the room temperature, avoiding over-consumption.
You must also avoid the sunlight and the external heat from entering the air-conditioned room : it is better to close the shutters when you are not there and leave doors and windows closed.

When you want to install a air conditioner on a window, it is best to choose a side opening in the shade : air-conditioning in the sun will consume more electricity to provide the same amount of cold air conditioning that air-conditioning in the shade.

The maintenance of air conditioning is essential. We must clean the filters and check the joints with the window. We must also clean the outside of the air conditioning system. In addition to increasing the life of the air conditioning system and to save electricity, proper maintenance provides cleaner air.
