Tip of the Day : 27 April

Bareback Horse Riding

When you're a beginner in horse riding, ride bareback can be a little impressive, but balance is also a question of technique.
When riding bareback, the reins are placed in the same way that when one goes with a saddle. To slip on the horse, we take the reins and try to jump along the left side of the horse at the front of his back with the help of our arms. At first, we can ask for some help.
Once seated, the goal is to find the most comfortable and well balanced position. We put ourselves at the same place that if a saddle was raised; we hold ourselves back straight and slightly to the rear.
The legs are arranged in contact with the body of the horse and we lengthen them as possible. Knees should be in constant contact with the horse : there should not be any space left.
Once properly positioned, we can put our horse in motion and soon we shall feel as comfortable as with a saddle.
Last minute advice : never wear thong when horse riding.
