Tip of the Day : 28 April

Increase the strength of a magnet

To increase the strength of a magnet, it is necessary to point all the atoms in the same direction.
For this, fill a large dish with water almost at the edge.
Place a small piece of wood on the water and place your magnet on top. The 2 pieces should float.
Wait until the wood stops completely.
Then take the magnet and place it on a table, being careful not changing its direction.
Protect your eyes with protective equipment.
Hold the magnet in the middle and strike its end several times quickly with a hammer.
Test your magnet.
P.S.: Protect your fingers too.
