FREDERIKSBORG CASTLE

Nicknamed the Danish Versailles, this masterpiece of the Renaissance is the largest palace in Scandinavia. You can watch the changing of the guard and discover inside the National History Museum of Denmark, which hosts the largest collection of historical paintings and portraits related to the country.

ROSENBORG CASTLE

The crown jewels, still sometimes worn by the queen, are exposed in the cellars of the castle in the centre of the Danish capital. Precious dishes, furniture, coronation chair and royal gifts (jewellery, paintings...) are also shown in a setting that shows the successive Danish reigns.

RUNDETAARN

From its 36 meters, the tower dating from 1642 offers a panoramic view of the city. It is climbed using an amazing spiral ramp that allowed horses to reach the top. In the centre of the tower is a library, a shopping area selling souvenirs and a café. Concerts and exhibitions are also regularly scheduled here.

STATENS MUSEUM FOR KUNST (SMK)

The largest collection of Danish art can be found in the National Art Museum which traces the story of the Vikings and also has a significant background dedicated to ancient European art.

NY CARLSBERG GLYPTOTEK

This museum features Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiques, romantic sculptures, collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, as well as works by Gauguin. There is also a stunning subtropical winter garden.

LE KASTELLET

The Citadel is among the best preserved in Europe, has five bastions and is shaped like a pentagon. Built from 1626, it now houses a museum and a pleasant, very popular public park for pleasant strolls near to the port where the Little Mermaid keeps guard.

DANSK DESIGN CENTRE

A temple of design, this place hosts many exhibitions and conferences dedicated to Danish design and whose history is retold. There are also some displays for international design.

CARLSBERG BREWERY

Ranked among the largest in the world, this brewing company was founded by the Jacobsen family; great lovers of art who richly decorated this XIXth century location. You can visit the modern installations, old rooms and stables because cases of beer are still delivered by 22 horses across the city.

CANOEING OR BOATING ON THE CHRISTIANSHAVN CANAL

An original way to discover the charm of Copenhagen's waters is by boarding a boat or taking out a canoe. Rentals are available on the canal.

PICNIC ON THE WATER-FRONT

Benches surrounding lakes offer the opportunity to freely picnic on the banks of water at the docks where the locals come to Copenhagen to jog.

BATHING IN THE PORT

300m from the city centre, five pools for children and adults are dedicated to swimming in the clear water of the Port of Copenhagen; one of the basins is even equipped with two diving boards of 2m and 5m.
