- 5 large courgettes
- 1 egg
- 250 ml cream or heavy cream
- grated cheese
- 200g of rice
- 2 small shallots or 1 small onion
- butter chips
- salt and pepper

Courgettes and rice gratin

- Preheat oven to 200 ° C.

- Cook rice in a saucepan of boiling water. Drain when ready and set aside in a bowl.

- Wash the courgettes, cut into 2 and cut into thin strips.

- Cut the shallots or onion finely and fry in a pan with a little olive oil. Add courgettes, salt and pepper to your liking and cook about 20 minutes, stirring regularly.

- In the bowl add rice, egg, courgettes, fresh cream, a few handfuls of cheese. Salt and pepper to your liking. Mix well!

- Transfer the mixture into a baking dish. Put cheese on top and place a few shavings of butter.

- Bake for half an hour while checking occasionally that the top do not brown too much!

This dish goes well with any type of meat.
