Cathédrale de Monaco: Notre Dame Immaculée

cathédrale de monaco: notre dame immaculée
Built on the Rock of Monaco, Roman Byzantine edifice built by Prince Charles III of Monaco from 1875 to 1903. She will be consecrated in 1911. It is the principal church of the Archdiocese of the city. In the interior we may admire an altarpiece by the painter Louis Brea dating from the year 1500, the altar and the Episcopal throne in white Carrara marble. The cathedral houses the tombs of princes dead and several chapels. The papal offices take place during major liturgical feasts under agreements with a large four-keyboard organ, inaugurated in 1976, which allows the magnificent organization of remarkable spiritual concerts.
