Musée moderne et vivant de l'histoire maritime tropézienne

musée moderne et vivant de l'histoire maritime tropézienne
Opened in 1958 and renovated in 1974, the National Museum of Marine presents a wide variety of models and documents providing leisure to explore. To trace the history of the French navy of the XIIth century to the invasion of 1944, models, objects and paintings from underwater archaeological excavations are to meet you. This museum is thus a complete tour of all maritime matters through permanent displays and temporary. The permanent collection is undoubtedly the most important because it offers posters, decorative arts, fine arts and models. It is spread over two galleries of 190 meters length. The models represent in miniature the great ocean liners whose legend is well established as the "Lafayette" in 1930, "Atlantic" in 1931 or the "France" in 1964. For amateurs, the art of rope is shown by a video.
