promenade des anglais
Known throughout the world, the reputation of the Promenade of the English is well established. It is a must on the Cote d'Azur. This avenue runs along the edge of the Mediterranean and marries the Bay of Angels.

It was not always as it is today. In the early nineteenth, it was an earth and gravel path. Its name is due to the large influx of customers after the English middle class from the winter on the French Riviera in the nineteenth century. The walk was built from 1820 by the British instigation of the Reverend Lewis Way.

Today, walking the English or 'the Prom' is the appointment of followers rollerblading, cycling and joggers. It is possible to walk there quietly. Pergolas have been built along the promenade for a moment of rest, relaxation typical Mediterranean lifestyle and contemplation of the Baie des Anges. The festive event was also held here as the Carnival of Nice or the Battle of Flowers ... The sunset seen from the promenade of English is a spectacle not to be missed.
