The beaches in the Var department

The exotic beaches, wild and unspoilt of the Var department stretch on 400 km of coastline between creeks, inlets and sandy coves.


The various beaches of the Var


Agay and the cove of Petit Caneiret, the cove of St Bartholomew and the creek of Baumette. The Dramont beach and cove of Antheor in St Raphaël, marked creeks in St Aygulf.
The 8 km-long coves and sandy beaches of Les Issambres, Nartelle beach, Garonnette beach, and Elephants beach in Ste Maxime.

The VIP beaches of St Tropez, Club 55, Nikki Beach, Papagayo, the Voile Rouge beach and wild Salins. The 5 km-long fine sand Bay of Pampelonne bounded on the north by the Cape of Saint-Tropez and on the south by Cape Camarat, and located in the village of Ramatuelle. The Anse de Bonne Terrasse, a place former used by the fishermen of Ramatuelle is characterized by a strip of sand in an arc of 150 m and is accessible by a footpath.

The wide Gigaro beach in La Croix Valmer, the 4 km-long sandy beaches, coves and creeks in the shade of pine trees in the Bay ofCavalaire-sur-Mer, the small sheltered beach of Rayol.

Coves and sandy beaches can be found one after the other over 22 km in Bormes-les-Mimosas, facing the Golden Islands, Port Cros, Porquerolles and the Levant Island. The pebble beach of Brégançon where one can see the Giens Peninsula. The sandy beach of Cabasson behind small dunes covered with vegetation.

The 3 km-long sandy beaches of La-Londe-Les-Maures : Miramar, Tamaris, Argentière and Pellegrin, overlooking the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros and the Fort Brégançon located in the town of Bormes-les-Mimosas. The Fort Brégançon have been used as a vacation residence since the 13th century. The fort is perched on a 35 meters high rock, near the coast of Cape Bénat.

The Giens peninsula in the town of Hyères is connected to shore by a cordon of sand and pebbles, 4 km-long Almanarre beach, Robinson beach, and Madrague beach.

The Carqueiranne seaside resort and its 10 km-long shoreline, the large Mourillon sandy beach in Toulon which harbor is ranked among the finest in the world. The 25 km-long coastline in the seaside resort of La Seyne sur Mer and its lovely Sablettes beach.

The St-Mandrier peninsula at the southern end of the small harbor of Toulon. The Gaou peninsula in the city of Six-Fours-les-plages, located in the extension of the port of Le Brusc, facing the entirely pedestrian Embiez island. The beaches of Sanary-sur-Mer in the heart of the garrigue, the Rènecros beach in Bandol, nestled deep in a reknown cove.
