The Jean Cocteau museum in Menton is a memorial dedicated to the famed artist and poet who passed away in 1963. It was only shortly before his death that Cocteau decided to restore and transform a former-bastion near the Menton harbour to make it a museum?
The museum is entirely dedicated to Cocteau's works: discover the mosaics along the ground floor, the wrought-iron frames surrounding his animal-inspired pottery works, and two beautiful tapestries. The only work by another artist, namely Marc Avoy, is the Portrait of Jean Cocteau?
