1910 : Avalanche at Wellington, in the State of Washington


On March 1st, 1910, an avalanche buried two trains at Wellington in the State of Washington, USA, killing 96 people. Due to weather conditions, rescuers could not reach the train for several days.

1932 : Lindbergh baby kidnapped


On the evening of March 1st 1932, aviator Charles Lindbergh's baby was kidnapped from his bedroom in Hopewell, New Jersey. Despite the payment of a ransom, the baby was found dead two months later.

1973 : Black September


On March 1st 1973, the Palestinian group Black September, which was responsible for the massacre at the Munich Olympics, invaded the Saudi Embassy in Khartoum and took diplomats hostage. 3 Western hostages were killed.

1978 : Charlie Chaplin
