1982 : Falkland IslandsOn March 19, 1982, Argentine troops landed in Leith Harbour in the British Falkland Islands and planted the flag of Argentina. The invasion followed from 2 April until the surrender of the Argentines on June 14th, 1982. |

2003 : Operation Iraqi FreedomOn March 19, 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom is launched by U.S. President George W. Bush, by sending missiles over Baghdad. The war in Iraq had begun. The forces involved were mostly from the U.S.A., UK and Australia. The operation ended only on August 19, 2010. |
