1944 : Start of National Liberation War of Macedonia

On October 11, 1944, supporters of the People's Liberation Army of Macedonia began the liberation of the region. It ended with the liberation of Yugoslavia in late 1944, with the help of Bulgarian troops came under Soviet control.

1986 : Meeting between Reagan and Gorbachev in Reykjavik

On October 11, 1986, U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met in Reykjavik, Iceland to discuss reducing their respective nuclear weapons. The discussion came to a sudden end because of U.S. plans to Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars).

2002 : Bombing in a shopping mall in Finland

On October 11, 2002, a bomb exploded in the Myyrmanni shopping mall in the city of Vantaa in Finland. 7 people were killed and 166 injured. The alleged perpetrator was a 19 years old student in Chemistry who was among the victims. His mobile was indeterminate. All we know is that he liked to make bombs.

2002 : Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Jimmy Carter

October 11, 2002, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his continuous efforts for decades to find solutions to international conflicts, for his defense of human rights and his actions to promote social development.
