BUS:

The municipal system serves the city well; tickets are on sale at stops and IETT kiosks.

SHARED TAXIS:

The Dolmus shared taxis are cheap and run a regular route with stops on request. Individual yellow taxis are available from 6am to midnight.

TAXIS:

A popular means of transport by the Istanbul, there are many in the city, recognisable by their yellow colour and operate on fixed fees.

TRAM:

The tram mainly crosses the old centre of Istanbul.

CABLE CARS:

There are two cable cars. One connects Taksim Park with Maçka Park and the other Café Pierre Loti with the Eyup district (Golden Horn).

FUNICULAR RAILWAY:

One connects with the tramway and goes to the Kabatas pier. The other, called 'Tünel', is the oldest metro in the world (1871) and climbs the steep hill of Galata.

SEABUS:

From the jetties of Eminönü and Kabatas, the seabus provides all water routes about the city and provides access to neighbourhoods on the edge of the Bosphorus Strait.
