Tourism Antibes Juan-les-pins

Musée Peynet

The museum is in the old town. It is opened since 1989 and carries the name of a draftsman having lived in Antibes, Raymond Peynet. The majority of the collection concern the works of the artist Peynet, (lithographies, gouaches, Indian ink, china, dolls and drawing of press). There is even a short film redrawing the essential of the life. An anecdote tells that for the city of his heart, the draftsman had realized "a diploma of love" to show his attachment. It is moreover the same diploma which is given to every marriage by the mayor of the city.
The permanent exhibition also consists of the other caricaturists and illustrators. As for the temporary exhibitions, the museum receives the works of big authors as Uderzo (Astérix and Obélix) or still Plantu.
