Cathedral of St. Reparata

Located in the old city, the cathedral was built from 1650 to 1699 and dedicated to the young martyr St. Reparata. According to legend, his headless body drifted from Palestine in a boat guided by angels to the shores of Nice. His remains rest in the interior of the Cathedral. It is classified a historical monument August 9, 1906.




The worship of the Cathedral is attached to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nice. Behind its facade in the Baroque Cathedral of St. Reparata Nice has not stopped surprising. Inside, the Baroque continues to shine, with ornamentation in marble and stucco.


The barrel-vaulted nave allows the presence of high windows through which the light comes within kissing. It contains ten chapels belonging to individuals until the late seventeenth century. The altar is surmounted by a representation to the Glory of St. Reparata.
